Qualifications

I work as a certified personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise and have a Masters in Health Sciences specializing in exercise rehabilitation and injury recovery.

Services

Mind-body fitness enables clients to go above and beyond what they can achieve from a traditional trainer. Services empower you to become motivated, goal-oriented and inspired to learn more about your body and its connection to your mind. Fitness shouldn’t just be about staying in shape but holistically finding meaning through wellness for body, mind, and spirit.

Approach

Programs are designed to teach patience, self-discovery, and learning about your body in the gym while engaging in several mind and body practices that include visual imagery, mediation, yoga, relaxation, mindfulness, healthy nutrition guidelines, journaling, and of course, exercise training.

Programs are meant for clients to learn about the exercises and muscles that are working. In the future, they may create personalized workouts for themselves as they transition from turning fitness from a hobby into a lifestyle. Techniques, methods, exercises, and resources are grounded in sports medicine research, centering around holistic health.

FAQs

  1. What should the client know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Pricing based on the needs of the client may adjust accordingly.
  2. What is your typical process for working with a new client? I like to get to know their client first. The initial meeting will usually involve understanding the client’s goals and expectations over a cup of tea or coffee at a public space or phone call.
  3. What education and training do you have that relates to your work? I have a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, a master’s degree in Health Science, and a certification in Personal Training from ACE (American Council of Exercise).
  4. How did you get started doing this type of work? It began as a hobby that turned into a passion.
  5. What types of clients have you worked with? Most clients in the past have been in the mid-30s to mid-60s. Because I have a science background, I am familiar with several conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, etc. This knowledge means I can help keep clients safe by knowing and understanding their limitations and what exercises will work best for their particular condition.
  6. Describe a recent project you are fond of and how long did it take? A current project has been to put out some workout videos that folks can do at home. Check out a few of my workouts here!
  7. What advice would you give a client looking to hire a provider in your area of work? Get to know the trainer first. Much of personal training is connection and relationship. If you know that the trainer is coming from the right place of sincerely wanting to help you and working hard to help you with your goals, the trainer can build trust with you, and results can begin!
  8. What questions should clients think through before talking to professionals about their projects?  What is your niche? Can I try a few training sessions for free to determine if it is right for me?
